This tasty casserole of sausage, green beans, and potatoes is a great side dish for any time of year. It's a whole meal because it has meat, vegetables, and potatoes all in one dish. So delicious and perfectly spiced.
With the holidays right around the corner, this is the perfect dish to add to the menu for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. We have a green bean side dish with our holiday meal and this is a hearty side dish that will go with the turkey, ham and prime rib perfectly.
To make Sausage green bean potato casserole You’ll need the following ingredients :
1½ lbs sausage kielbasa or smoke sausage, sliced ¼” thick
2 lbs baby creamer potatoes, washed, sliced in half
2 15 oz cans green beans, drained
⅛ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup butter
1 cup onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
½ tsp red pepper flakes
¼ cup water
How to make it :
Set the oven temperature to 400 degrees and spray a 9×13 baking dish with a nonstick spray.
Wash creamer potatoes, cut them in half, and put them in a gallon-size bag that can be sealed.
Add oil, seasonings, pepper, and red pepper flakes to the baggie. Mix by shaking.
Put sausages and water in a large frying pan and cook over medium-high heat until the sausages are browned and most of the water is gone.
Take the sausage out of the pan and put it in the bag when it's cool enough.
In a frying pan, melt the butter and add the onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are clear.
Let it cool for a few minutes, then put it in the baggie and shake it to mix.
Lastly, add green beans to the baggie, shake it to mix, and then pour the beans into the baking dish that has been prepared.
Put it in the oven and cover with foil. Bake for 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Take out of the oven carefully and enjoy!
